The International Alliance of Urolithiasis (IAU) was founded in Guangzhou, by Professor Zhangqun Ye, Professor Guohua Zeng, and Professor Kemal Sarica in 2012. Within the year, the IAU established permanent headquarter in Guangzhou, China.

The mission of IAU is to facilitate advancement of knowledge, investigation, and treatment of urolithiasis and to promote dialogue, research, education, and training into all aspects of the urinary stone disease. The IAU strives to position itself as a major international platform to promote international academic exchange in a urolithiasis research field.
